Nowadays, the video game industry has become a very profitable business. This industry is growing very rapidly, and the video game industry has gained 50 billion U.S. dollars, even that amount is greater than the film industry. The development of this industry continues to rise rapidly from year to year, because the game developers continue to release their latest games. Therefore, there will be plenty of jobs available from this industry like game designers, programmers and game testers.
A Game Tester
One of the positions that required by the game developers is a game tester. Why do they need? Whereas, a game tester job is only try to play video game from certain console. The aim of the game developers or game programmer is to avoid the problematic products from the latest games that they are going to release.
A game tester job is playing video game or PC game to find bugs or defects in the manufacturing process by the programmers. Many people assume that being a game tester is an easy job and paid with high salary. But that’s not entirely true, because to become a game tester, each person must have the ability in the fields of computing and well in English.
The gamers from around the world, of course many of them seek to chase their dreams of becoming a game tester since they can play the latest games for free and get paid too. However, most of them do not know how to become a game tester. Although it’s not required education or particular course, but there are some things that you should know to become a game tester. Here are some tips on how to become a game tester:
- If you can only run two or three game consoles, try to master all the existing games consoles like XBOX 360, PS3, PSP, Nintendo Wii, PC and so on. This is useful so that you can adapt to the game that you want to test on a particular console.
- You must have good knowledge in computer, both software and hardware. The ability to run various softwares is very useful for the game installation process on PC and other game consoles. While the hardware ability is useful to customize specifications that required to run a game.
- You must understand the programming language; this would be useful if you find specific language in a game that you play. Because usually, every game developer has a particular language on the games that they release. Although each game developers usually have a special language that is almost similar in the games that they release.
- After you try the latest games that will be released, you must provide a report on errors, defects or problems in the game that you have played. This means you must have good skills in English, the reports that you provide must be understood by the developer, programmer or game designer.
Finding a job as a game tester is not easy, because you’ll find a lot of competitors. Therefore, you should be better in many ways from your competitors. You can find a job as a game tester by online, because every year some developers need the game testers.
If you make a mistake like missing bugs or confusing to write report, then you must accept criticism from developers, programmers or game designers. Now it was clear that being a game tester is not as easy as you imagine. The seriousness and concentration is the success key in this procession, and hopefully the tips on how to become a game tester above can be useful for you.
