Coaching Courses

Football coaching course is your first step to begin a career as a football coach. If you do not have coaching experience or have little coaching experience, you should take the football coaching course level 1. You can contact the local football association, or you can apply the local football coaching course via online. Football coaching course level 1 aims to introduce the basics of coaching and also to improve coaching skills.

If you already have club coaching experience for a few seasons, you can take football coaching course level 2. It is highly recommended to have a certificate of coaching course level 1 or have experience that is equivalent to level 1.

Your experience as a coach is needed to improve your reputation as a coach. Once you get the level 2 certificate, the next step is to add your experience in coaching. You can be a volunteer to help the head coach at a local youth club football league. Watch a head coach train a team, then you’ll learn from him. After that, maybe you can get involved in coaching to become an assistant coach even being a head coach at a local youth club.

Another way to improve your skill in coaching a team is playing a game like Championship Manager or Football Manager. Although it’s only a game, but it is the simulation of real football game.

Learn all of the sciences such as psychology, physical education, sports, coaching, nutrition and fitness. One day, these sciences will be useful for you if you handle a professional football club.

Tactic and Strategy

To become a good football coach, surely you must have good tactics and strategies as well. Customize the formations and tactics that you apply based on the ability of the players. If your opponent has better quality players than your team players, then the defensive strategy is the wise option to restrain the opposing team attacks and you can use counter-attack as the secret weapon to get the points.

However, if the quality of your players is better than the opposition team, any strategy seems to be suitable to get a victory. But you should not underestimate the opponents, though the quality of your team players is better.

Recognize your potential opponent before facing the real match! Notice the way they play through video recordings or watch directly at the stadium. Try to be more communicative with your players! Communication is also important in the match and also important for the integrity of a team.
