* The first thing you should do on becoming a sniper is joining military or law enforcement. However, you have to earn the bachelor’s degree and should be a police officer or an army before you can become a sniper in law enforcement and military. For the law enforcement, you have to ask the agency about the special division such as SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics). If there is no special division, then there is no sniper or sharp shooter position available.

* Make sure that your physical condition qualifies for medical check-up. You have to try to quit drinking and smoking from now if you have those bad habits. However, clear from criminal records and pass the drug screening are mandatory.

* Try to always attend the training programs in law enforcement or military. For the police officer, usually it will take 6 months to 1 year to complete the training programs, meanwhile for the army it will take more than a year. However, it’s all depend on each state requirements, some states only need 6 months for the police officer and less than a year for the army.

* When you have become a police officer or an army, you’ll not automatically qualify as a sniper. During shooting training, you’ll be judged by the jury whether qualify or not to promote to join in the special force such as sharp shooter division. The higher score in shooting training usually will easily get promotion to the sniper or sharp shooter division.

* You must be more serious during shooting training and always listen to your instructor about all essential shooting techniques. You’ll learn how to shoot well in any conditions and situations. You must constantly hit the target from long distances. After the shooting training, keep practice to improve your shooting skill and technique or maybe you can enter the shooting contests.

* Before you join the sniper team either in law enforcement or military, you have to complete numerous tests such as psychological test, physical test, firearms knowledge and firearms test. In firearms test, you have to shoot well the moving target and shoot while moving or running.
